This interactive workshop teaches participants the fundamental skills to recognise and treat disordered eating with clarity and confidence.

Aim

Participants will learn an evidence-based, proven framework to lead clients from disordered eating to intuitive eating, including navigating the messy in-between stages. They will have the opportunity to practise essential skills like picking up on red flags, taking a food history in a non-judgemental way, and writing meal plans that don’t fuel a diet mentality.

  • What is disordered eating and how does dieting fuel it?

  • Self-reflection: Is your coaching style subconsciously influenced by diet culture?

  • Shifting your client’s mindset from appearance to health

  • Practical exercise: Taking a food history in a non-judgemental way

  • Screening for eating disorders

  • The place of regular eating and what foods to focus on

  • Practical exercise: Writing a meal plan your client will actually follow

  • Dealing with hunger, cravings and challenging foods

  • Tools to cope with negative food and body thoughts

Lucy is a NZ Registered Dietitian and has a decade of experience in helping clients find food freedom. With a background in health professional education, Lucy’s true passion is teaching others how to coach their clients with compassion and effective support. She believes the more people there are dismantling the diet industry, the better. Lucy is a Board-Certified Lifestyle Medicine Professional (IBLM & ASLM), Fellow Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine Member, Approved Practitioner for the Australian Centre for Eating Disorders and Affiliated Dietitian for the Christchurch Ballet Society.

  • Cancellations made up to 10 working days before a workshop will incur a $39 service fee.

  • Cancellations (or non-attendance) made 10 working days or less will not be refunded and the full workshop fee will be charged. 

  • No fee applies if you are able to find a replacement participant.

  • MHERC reserves the right to cancel a workshop at any time due to unforeseen circumstances or insufficient registrations.

  • Only one person may view a webinar session per registration.
