Aim:
In this workshop you will learn simple yet impactful techniques for utilising self-hypnosis to manage stress, enhance mental clarity and boost your productivity in both personal and professional settings. This introductory workshop will begin by defining hypnosis, exploring its benefits and examining the roles of preparation, imagination and self-talk. Participants will then get to practice and experience hypnosis, gaining skills to integrate this proven tool into daily life.
Overview and Learning Intentions:
- Gain an understanding of hypnosis and brainwaves
- Explore effective visualisation techniques and find what works best for you, including workarounds for aphantasia
- Learn about the benefits of both organic and strategic self-talk
- Discover key techniques to experience hypnotic phenomena
- Participate in safe and supported exercises where you will get to practice and experience being hypnotised
- Review the overall structure of hypnosis

Alan is a Master Trainer specialising in the Neuro-Semantic Self-Actualisation Trainings, based on self-actualisation psychology. He trained under the tutelage of psychologist Dr L. Michael Hall PhD, the developer of Neuro-Semantics. He has a Doctorate in Clinical Hypnotherapy (Distinction) and runs a private therapy and coaching practice in Christchurch. In 2015 Alan published his first book; "How To Chill Out", a book on stress management and communication techniques based on coaching and training he developed after the Christchurch earthquakes.
