This workshop will equip you with key skills that can help you manage conflict, and transform challenging conversations into constructive and beneficial discussions. Whether you encounter difficult conversations in your professional or personal life, the techniques you will learn will empower you to navigate through them effectively.

Overview and Learning Intentions

  • Discuss the nature of conflict and its impact

  • Understand the importance of addressing conflict and having challenging conversations

  • Consider the influence of perceptions, assumptions, personality types and communication styles

  • Understand how you can improve relationships through open and honest dialogue

  • Explore effective communication techniques such as active listening, empathy and assertiveness

  • Learn strategies for managing emotions during difficult or uncomfortable conversations

Sharon has a background in health (nursing and midwifery), with over 20 years' experience in education and training on a variety of subjects, topics and issues. Her particular passion lies in supporting personal and professional development of others. She believes that effective communication is at the heart of both personal and professional success; looking at and addressing internal and external dialogue is essential for creating positive outcomes.

  • Cancellations (or non-attendance) made 10 working days or less will not be refunded and the full workshop fee will be charged. 

  • No fee applies if you are able to find a replacement participant.

  • MHERC reserves the right to cancel a workshop at any time due to unforeseen circumstances or insufficient registrations.

  • Only one person may view a webinar session per registration.
