Mel Johns


Mel has worked in the alcohol and other drug field for 13 years, undertaking roles in the UK and New Zealand. He has experience in a wide range of positions, from drugs worker to Service Manager, and has worked in diverse settings, from homeless outreach to long-term therapeutic communities. Since 2010 Mel has been a part-time contracted tutor with Weltec and now undertakes this role full-time. He possesses a strong interest in the social aetiology of alcohol and other drug use along with the process and components of recovery. Throughout his career Mel has also specialised in working with, and developing services for, stimulant users.
