This full day hui in Ōtautahi, Christchurch is to generate interest and ignite the Mental Health Consumer, Peer Support and Lived Experienced (CPSLE) workforce and provide a voice to those in lived experience roles to workshop solutions for Te Waipounamu, South Island sector.
Objective
An opportunity to workshop and develop actions regarding recruitment, retention and how to better support the workforce by exploring communities of practice and workshopping solutions to supervision-co-reflection challenges for the CPSLE workforce.
Overview
Speakers: Te Aka Whai Ora – Maori Health Authority, Manatū Hauora – Ministry of Health, Te Pou
Intended participants: People who are considering a career in a Mental Health and Addiction peer support/lived experience role, and existing CPSLE workers based in Te Waipounamu – South Island.
Focus: Encourage those new to the sector, Develop a community of practice, Workshop supervision access/barriers/solutions
Outcomes
This day will support some of the goals detailed in the Te Pou CPSLE Action plan particularly:
Goal 1 Develop leadership and partnership infrastructure
1.2 Create workforce communities of practise
Goal 2 Grow our workforce
Goal 3 Develop skills and workplaces
3.4 Build supervision, coaching and mentoring capacity within the CPSLE workforce
3.8 Work collaboratively with employers and workforce to design CPSLE leadership development opportunities, and recruitment and retention activities.
