Overview

This workshop focuses on autism and ADHD as two core features of neurodiversity experience. From a lived experience perspective, we'll discuss how neurodiversity impacts different areas of a person's life. We'll explore the similarities and differences between autism and ADHD, and examine how having one or both may affect someone's daily life. You'll learn ways to accommodate differences and support neurodiverse people as fellow clients, team members, or members of the wider community. 

Learning Intentions

  • Learn about the similarities and differences of autism and ADHD.

  • Explore neurodiversity from a lived experience perspective.

  • Understand how autism, ADHD, or both impact areas of a person's life.

  • Learn ways to accommodate and support someone with autism, ADHD, or both.

Who Should Attend?

Everyone who works with, supports, or wants to better understand people with autism, ADHD, or both, including counsellors, therapists, social workers, educators, health practitioners, managers, HR professionals, parents, and caregivers.

Dr Annie Southern PhD (Health Science), MA, GradDipLT, Cert HE
Dr Annie Southern was educated at Oxford University and has a PhD in Health Science from the University of Canterbury. She uses her lived experience of both neurodiversity and alternative states of reality as part of her work. View full profile here.
