Overview

Cultural Intelligence or Cultural Quotient (CQ) helps you communicate and connect with people of different backgrounds, cultures, and races. Culturally intelligent people are able to build better relationships with people from other cultures and foster a more collaborative and productive work environment. This is an important skill to have in our increasingly globalised and connected world, while building stronger relationships with people from other cultures. This workshop encourages participants to explore challenges, opportunities, and tools to apply CQ to their professional practice.

Learning Intentions

  • Develop your understanding of the importance of CQ.

  • Understand the CQ capabilities: drive, knowledge, strategy, action.

  • Explore challenges and opportunities when applying CQ.

  • Build skills to communicate effectively in different cultural settings.

  • Hone your skills to create productive relationships by giving importance to people’s differences.

  • Become more confident in culturally diverse settings.

Who Should Attend?

Everyone who works with people from diverse cultural backgrounds or wants to build stronger cross-cultural relationships, including social workers, counsellors, educators, healthcare professionals, community workers, managers, HR professionals, and customer service staff.

  • MHERC may reschedule or cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances or insufficient registrations. If this occurs, you may transfer to another date/workshop, receive a credit, or request a refund.
  • Substitutions are free if you arrange a replacement participant.
  • Cancellations more than 10 working days before a workshop will incur a $39 service fee; alternatively, we can transfer you to another date/workshop at no charge.
  • Cancellations within 10 working days (or non-attendance) are non-refundable and charged in full. Transfers may be approved for extenuating circumstances and incur a $39 fee.
