Overview

Psychosis can have profound effects on individuals and those around them, making informed support essential. During this workshop we’ll develop a foundational understanding of the key features of psychosis, including possible risk factors and causes, and explore the broad presentation of symptoms and their impacts on individuals. We’ll enhance our skills to respond safely and effectively when supporting people with active symptoms, and identify referral options alongside individual and community strategies for ongoing support. 

Learning Intentions

  • Develop an awareness of the key features of psychosis including possible risk factors and causes.
  • Explore the broad presentation of psychosis and the impacts on an individual.
  • Enhance your skills to respond to and support individuals safely and effectively.
  • Identify referral options, and individual and community strategies for support.

Who Should Attend?

Everyone who works with or supports people who may experience psychosis, including mental health workers, health practitioners, social workers, counsellors, peer and community support workers, and those in emergency services or corrections.
