Brendan works for Pegasus Health in the General Practitioner Mental Health Liaison Team. He has practiced mindfulness for 30 years, and trained for 13 years with Thich Nhat Hanh, one of the world’s foremost proponents of mindfulness. Brendan received transmission from him to teach mindfulness in 2003. He is interested in psychotherapeutic uses of mindfulness and completed his Master’s thesis on the applications of mindfulness in cognitive and behavioural therapies. Brendan has been involved in the integration of mindfulness based therapies into treatment programmes and individual psychotherapy. He is an experienced mindfulness trainer and has run workshops for the NZ Psychological Society, NZ College of Clinical Psychology and many other organisations.
