Chris Bowden, Dr

Chris is a lecturer in the Faculty of Education at Victoria University of Wellington. He lectures in child, adolescent and lifespan development and in youth issues including suicide, grief, loss, change and trauma. His research has focused on risk and resiliency, adolescent suicide and his PhD is on young men’s experiences of losing a close friend to suicide. Chris designed and co-facilitates the Waves psycho-educational programme for suicide bereaved adults in conjunction with Skylight and has worked in the area of suicide prevention and postvention for the past 15 years working with young people, families and providing professional development and education in the community.
