• What is FASD and how can it be recognised?
• Shifting thinking to the FASD paradigm
• Learn how the brain is affected and how that impacts on behaviour and mental wellbeing
• Recognising the different social and emotional needs of individuals with FASD
• Learn the differences in working effectively with this group to provide FASD-informed services and supports

Learning Intentions

Participants will be provided with the opportunity to:
• Participants will learn how to communicate effectively with individuals with FASD
• Learn how to provide appropriate supports and services
• Adopt methods to respond differently to emotional dysregulation associated with FASD
• Come to understand what are realistic expectations when working with FASD
• Consider ways to reduce stigma for birth mothers and individuals with FASD
