Aim
This course will provide an overview of alcohol and other drug treatment pathways, treatment providers and issues in treatment recovery.

• Wait lists and assessment processes
• First points of contact
• Local alcohol and other drug treatment providers
• Self-help, peer support groups and brief interventions

Learning Intentions
Participants will be provided with the opportunity to:
• Gain knowledge on the harm minimisation – abstinence spectrum
• Learn strategies on supply control, demand reduction and problem limitation
• Review the concept of prevent, delay and reduce
• Get an overview of the treatment programmes available and who delivers them
