Aim
The challenges of working with individuals experiencing mental health difficulties can significantly increase the stress levels of those people involved in their care, support and/or treatment.  The aim of this half day course is to understand more about the stress experienced by individuals in the caring professions that arises as a result of their work with clients.  Strategies to manage and decrease stress will also be explored along with ways that each participant can regulate and reduce their own stress levels.

Overview
• How does stress effect the mind and body and how does it comes about?
• Ways to monitor one’s own stress level
• Strategies that might be helpful in managing stress with your clients
• Individual strategies that will assist you to manage your own stress

Learning Intentions
Participants will be provided with the opportunity to:
• Learn about the stress response and one’s own stress levels
• Develop strategies and techniques that may be helpful to reduce stress
• Identify strategies that work best
