Combatting Stigma and Discrimination: Alcohol and Other Drugs

To understand what constitutes stigma and discrimination in the alcohol and other drug field, and how it affects those subjected to it. This course will use evidence based tools to combat it.

Learning Intentions
Participants will be provided with the opportunity to:
• Understand the effects of stigma and discrimination
• Hear from consumers, a peer support worker and an advocate
• Experience some group work managing case studies
• Gain knowledge of recourse options
