Aim
This workshop will cover current research on trauma, including Complex Trauma, and how this affects development for children and adolescents. Participants will learn about trauma and the relationship to Attachment theory. A framework for working with trauma including the key principles of Trauma Informed Care will be discussed. The workshop also aims to develop practical skills and resources for trauma work and how mental health professionals can support clients. The need for reflective practice and professional self care will also be emphasized in this area of work.
